The advisers at Springfield Financial Services are highly qualified and combined have over 100 years of industry experience.
Antony advises on various aspects of pension and investment planning, specialising in the efficient creation, protection and distribution of family wealth.
He is qualified to Diploma level via the Chartered Insurance Institute and due to his particular interest in estate planning, he has also completed the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ (STEP) Administration of Estates exam.
In 1987 he left to join a local IFA firm as an Independent Financial Adviser and Director of the company.
An opportunity arose in 1997 to purchase 50% of the shares in Springfield Financial Services Ltd and in 2004 Antony became the sole owner and Managing Director of the company. Antony now runs the business alongside his Co-Directors; Ailsa Thomas and Vanessa Townshend.
Antony is married with three children. He is a keen time trial cyclist and enjoys Formula 1 and Moto GP.
Ailsa Thomas, FPFS
Director, Chartered Financial Planner
Ailsa advises on a range of areas, including retirement and investment planning and has a particular interest in estate planning and trusts. To this end, Ailsa holds the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ (STEP) Certificate for Financial Services.
In March, 2010 she was awarded Chartered Financial Planner status and is now also a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.
Working initially in administration whilst she studied towards her professional qualifications, Ailsa went on to assist advisers in a technical capacity as a Paraplanner and later moved on to advising clients.
Ailsa, now a shareholding Director of Springfield Financial Services Ltd, joined the company in 2004.
Ailsa is married and has two young sons with whom much of her spare time is spent. At weekends Ailsa enjoys walking in the local countryside and meeting up with family and friends.
Vanessa Townshend, FPFS
Director, Chartered Financial Planner
Vanessa enjoys providing holistic advice, incorporating retirement planning, investment management, care fees/later life planning and estate planning. She holds the Society of Later Life Advice (SOLLA) accreditation and is a pension/retirement specialist with expertise in all types of pension rules and regulations, including occupational pension schemes, private pensions, pension transfers and pensions on divorce.
Vanessa is a Chartered Financial Planner and, in 2015, became a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. She has also completed the Foundation Certificate with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ (STEP), which includes Trusts, Wills and Administration of Estates.
Vanessa is married with two children and enjoys coaching, training for and competing in triathlon.
Phil Rogers, FPFS
Chartered Financial Planner
Phil provides advice on a wide range of areas including pension and investment planning. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, an accreditation held by fewer than 5% of registered financial advisers.
In 2014, having taken the decision to look for a new challenge, Phil identified Springfield Financial Services Ltd as a company that would provide the ideal base to focus on advising existing clients and developing new relationships through referral and professional introduction.
His career progressed with a local financial advisory firm where Phil enjoyed over 20 years working principally in the field of self-administered pension arrangements and corporate and individual investment portfolio management. Phil developed his business by working closely with a network of professional intermediaries, principally Chartered and Certified Accountants in Preston and Manchester.
Outside interests include travel, sport (and in particular Rugby Union being a Debenture holder at the Millennium Stadium), martial arts and music.
Phil is married with one daughter, two step-children, three grand-children and two Dachshunds.
Trainee Financial Planner
Jenna began her Springfield career in 2013 having started working for the financial planning arm of a local accountancy practice in 2011.
Having mastered Springfield’s administration processes, Jenna is now training to become a qualified adviser; this involves observing client meetings, one to one training with the firm’s experienced advisers as well as studying for relevant professional examinations.
Tricia has over ten years’ experience in the financial services industry and she joined the team at Springfield Financial Services back in January 2016. Tricia is qualified to Diploma level via the Chartered Insurance Institute and she is progressing towards Chartered status.
